SDG Institution
Narsimha Reddy Engineering College is encouraged to begin preparations for the upcoming Sustainability Category in the NIRF 2025 rankings, which aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This new category highlights the growing global emphasis on environmentally responsible and socially impactful education.
To excel, the institution must proactively align with the expected parameters of this NIRF initiative.
Objectives
- To create awareness among students and staff about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- To integrate SDG concepts into curriculum, projects, and extracurricular activities.
- To encourage student participation in sustainability initiatives.
- To promote environmentally responsible practices on campus.
- To support innovation and research aligned with SDGs.
- To collaborate with industries, NGOs, and community organizations for SDG-based outreach programs.
- To document SDG activities for accreditation and quality assurance processes.
Functions
- Organize workshops, seminars, quizzes, debates, and awareness programs related to SDGs.
- Facilitate student projects and working models mapped to relevant SDGs.
- Conduct community outreach programs focusing on health, hygiene, education, environment, and energy conservation.
- Promote waste management, water conservation, clean energy, and green campus initiatives.
- Encourage interdisciplinary activities addressing sustainability challenges.
- Maintain records of SDG-related activities and achievements.
- Prepare annual action plans and reports.
- Support departments in mapping their activities to SDGs.
